Domestic Violence – How YOU can save a life?

Did you know that at least 1 in every 3 women have been abused at some point in their lives? Or that after in the 9 seconds it takes me to write this sentence, a woman is abused .Did you, a woman, just get a sense of sympathy and suddenly want to become involved in ending this social issue? I wouldn’t be surprised if you did. There are hundreds of organizations today that help women who have been affected by domestic abuse at some point in their lives. But some of these organizations need your help. Many of them rely on volunteers to become involved and raise awareness about the social issues involving domestic violence. Domestic violence not only affects one person but their loved ones. This is continuously becoming a problem in today’s society and domestic violence organizations strive to help end this problem. Even if you don’t want to become committed to an organization, simple research is a fantastic starting point. Educate yourselves on domestic violence and ways you can help if you ever come across this problem. Go to presentations, informational meetings that will give you the knowledge. Many people are too afraid to report acts of violence but through these organizations, victims of abuse should know that there are people that can help them and that they shouldn’t think that no one can do anything and that they will be stuck in the situation forever. Become educated, Raise awareness and you can save a life.
